Monday Weigh in #4

Weight Loss for the Weak! ( Don't feel obligated to post your weight just how much you've lost )
I've gained 4 pounds this week.  So I'm now sitting at 279.  I'm still at an overall lose, so I'm not feeling too discouraged.

Struggles and Victories of the Weak!
Taco Bell and Pizza Hut...the dynamic duo of fast food.  At least that's the way they feel to me.  It's actually been months since I've gone to Taco Bell and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the amount of food that I normally order felt like way too much last week.  Unfortunately my brain and tongue just wouldn't listen to my stomach and I finished the whole lot.  I'm going to do better this week though...last week we had a lack of things to eat at the house and didn't make it to the grocery store.  I really feel like that's where things fall apart for me...it's so much easier to call Pizza Hut then to go to a crowded, loud, grocery store.

How can I improve?
As you know I do the couch to 5K program 3 days a week.  I've been thinking of trying to put together a morning exercise routine of some sort that includes some more traditional exercises like push-ups and sit-ups.  I know at first it'll be difficult with my flabby arms and the donut around my middle, but those are the things I'm most self conscience about.  Any suggestions for a simple routine would be extremely welcome.

Don't forget...the cake is a lie and the cube had to die for it.  Until next time.

Ha! Love the "I didn't talk about your mom" comment! I think you're incredibly brave for posting a track of your weight hits and misses. I battle weight issues everyday, as does every woman in my family. Thank you for talking about it. Have a great holiday:)

Hooray for my first reposter. Not cheapened at all by the fact that she's my wife, but greatly appreciated.

@Candyland...I know how you feel. I think most of my family with very few exceptions has some kind of weight issue and I'm not exception. However, the idea of not being able to keep up with the children I'd one day like to have is a lot more scary then not having fast food for a while.

It can be difficult to stay smart when it comes to food. There are few healthy choices out there that are really easy and fast and that makes it that much harder.

If you're struggling w/ giving up the fast food, I have great tip -- watch the movie "Supersize Me." If you haven't heard of it, it's a documentary about a guy who eats at McDonald's every day for a month, and if they ask "Would you like to supersize that" he has to say yes! I swear, after seeing what he went through I didn't even crave fast food for a very long time. Probably time for me to watch it again...

As far as an exercise routine, I recommend keeping it simple & short. Seriously, no more than 20 minutes. If it gets longer, you'll have too many valid excuses about why you don't have time. Maybe start w/ a specified number of simple sit-ups and push-ups while you crank the Duran Duran (you know you want to) ;)

This blog absolutely is probably the most unlike any other blog I follow. For that reason alone, I must add myself as a follower. WOW huh? You might know my son then :)

Unfortunately I stopped my walking program before summer started and consequently gained between 5 and 10 pounds. I seem to fluctuate between 220 and 230 which seems kind of extreme. I think I have a lot of liquid retention going on.

I saw that movie Super Size Me and it just make me crave McDonalds the next day. I'm the kind of person who if I see a fast food commercial at night, that's what I have for lunch the next day. Then I wish I hadn't had it because the food sucks and doesn't look or taste anywhere as good as the commercial made it look.

I don't eat anywhere as much fast food as I used to, but still I'm somewhat addicted.
